Chilean Wine Exports with MAXLINER Thermal Protection

Ocean and Air Freight

320+ containers protected with MAXLINER in Chile. Final price, no hidden fees.

Your wine took years to be ready. The journey should not ruin it.

International logistics + MAXLINER protection. All through a single operator.

Freight cost is never the real problem. The real problem is the cost of not having it arrive on time.
PRESERVATION

Protection for Critical Cargo

Extreme Temperature

Sudden temperature swings between 0°C and 40°C during transit alter aromas, disrupt tannin balance, and prematurely age the wine. The damage is irreversible and is often only discovered by the importer at destination.

Humidity and Condensation

Temperature fluctuations create moisture inside the container. Peeling labels, damaged cartons, and compromised corks are the result. A single pallet with poorly preserved labels can trigger automatic claims in the most demanding markets.

UV Radiation

Prolonged sun exposure on high-insolation routes affects color stability and degrades the wine’s tannins. This is especially critical for mid- to high-end red wines.

Accelerated Oxidation

Heat accelerates the activity of dissolved oxygen. A wine designed to age for five years can age in just weeks if thermal conditions are not properly controlled.

The problem is not freight. The problem is that no one takes responsibility for what happens inside the container during transit.

Why NewComex

MAXLINER Thermal Technology to Protect Your Harvest:

MAXLINER is a multi-layer thermal protection system installed inside the container before loading, creating a complete insulated barrier across the walls, ceiling, and floor. Its flexible 16-layer structure helps reduce temperature fluctuations throughout the journey and protects wines that are sensitive to sudden thermal changes.

Your wine does not need cold. It needs stability.

MAXLINER creates a 16-layer insulated barrier that protects the container’s internal temperature throughout the entire route. No electricity. No port cold-chain dependency. Thermal damage is only discovered at destination.

Reefer-Level Protection. Dry Container Cost

To export wine, you do not need an exact temperature. You need to prevent sudden temperature changes. MAXLINER does exactly that at a fraction of the cost of a reefer, without the risk of power loss during transit.

Fleet + MAXLINER in One Operation

Newcomex is the only freight forwarder in Chile that includes MAXLINER installation as part of the same service. One price, one team, one party accountable from warehouse to destination.

Testimonials

They say it, not us

  • “We have been exporting to the UK with Newcomex for the past three seasons. What we value most is that the container arrives without surprises — no importer claims due to damaged labels or compromised wine. MAXLINER made a real difference on the Panama route.”
    Rodrigo Ahumada
    Commercial Manager
  • “We used to coordinate freight with one provider and thermal protection with another. With Newcomex, everything is handled in one place — quotation, MAXLINER, customs, and tracking. It simplified the entire operation, and the final price was exactly what we were quoted from day one.”
    Francisca Donoso
    Head of Exports, Colchagua Winery
  • “We shipped samples to ProWein and the main harvest container to China in the same month. Newcomex coordinated both operations. Having a single account manager for everything makes a real difference when timelines are tight.”

Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of the most common questions about wine exports, thermal protection, transit times, and international logistics coordination.

A reefer container requires constant power throughout the entire route, has a significantly higher operating cost, and depends on every port in transit keeping the cold chain active. MAXLINER is a passive insulated liner system: it does not require electricity and works as a multi-layer thermal barrier that stabilizes the container’s internal temperature regardless of external conditions. For bottled wine or bag-in-box shipments that do not require an exact temperature but do require thermal stability, MAXLINER is the most cost-efficient solution without compromising protection.

Yes. The materials used meet standards suitable for operations where cargo requires sanitary protection and traceability. If your importer or customer requires additional documentation, we can provide the relevant technical background and applicable certifications at the quotation stage.

MAXLINER reduces internal temperature variation by up to 15°C compared to the outside of the container. On high-insolation routes such as the Panama Canal crossing or Pacific routes, where outside temperatures can exceed 45°C, the inside of the container remains within safe ranges for wine. The installation covers the walls, ceiling, and floor with 16 layers of aluminum and insulating materials that act as a complete thermal barrier from the moment of loading.

Yes. We coordinate winery pickup from Chile’s main wine-producing valleys: Maipo, Colchagua, Casablanca, Maule, Cachapoal, and Elqui. Our service includes inland transport from your winery to the port of shipment, plus MAXLINER installation before loading. One team, one price, no separate coordination required.

To export Chilean wine, you need at a minimum: a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, SAG phytosanitary certificate, and the Bill of Lading. Depending on the destination, additional documents may be required, such as an enological analysis certificate or labels approved by the importing country’s regulator. Newcomex manages and coordinates all customs documentation as part of the service — you do not have to handle it yourself.

Estimated transit times from San Antonio or Valparaíso are approximately as follows: United Kingdom and the Netherlands, between 23 and 28 days; U.S. East Coast, between 18 and 22 days; China, between 28 and 35 days; Brazil, between 10 and 14 days; Germany, between 25 and 30 days. These timelines depend on the shipping line and routing. In your quote, we provide the actual estimated transit time for your shipment, not a generic range.

Yes. We coordinate exports of bottled wine, bag-in-box, and bulk wine in flexitanks. Each format has different logistics requirements, and the protection method is adapted accordingly. If you export in bulk, we review with you the most suitable protection system based on destination and volume.

Yes. We have handled more than 320 containers protected with MAXLINER from Chile, and we work with wineries and wine exporters who choose us specifically for the combination of integrated logistics and thermal protection in a single operation. You would not be the first to bring us this challenge — and it shows in how we coordinate every shipment.

Your next harvest deserves to arrive in perfect condition.

Tell us the destination, shipment volume, and loading date. We will provide a final-price quote within 24 hours, including freight, thermal protection, and customs management. If your operation requires it, we can also add extra traceability with installation records and monitoring support.
